Clutter Video Tip: Waiting Time is Not Wasted Time

Each week we are posting a one-minute-ish quick video tip on something useful and practical that you can apply right away! Waiting is no fun, but we all have to do it. The waiting room does not have to be a black hole for productivity. (Click here to watch on YouTube if you can’t see the embedded player.)

Hi. I’m Lorie Marrero, and today’s Clutter Video Tip is about what I call a “While You Wait Bag.” A lot of us find ourselves sitting around maybe at a doctor’s appointment or at an oil change place or a ballet lesson and you’ve got some time on your hands but you want to be productive or you maybe just want to relax with some reading or some hobbies. So, it’s great if you have these tools with you in a bag that you keep packed and ready to go. This is mine, and I have a few things in here I want to share with you. This is my reading material; I have my Kindle and a book. This is a pretty good one right here. [Read a sample chapter of the Clutter Diet book! Clutterdiet.com/samplechapter] And I have some magazines as well as some clipping tools, like a blade, a stapler, post-it notes, and highlighter pens and things that you might want to have when you’re reading. I also have a deck of cards of this game that I like that I can play [This game is called “SET” setgame.com] either solitaire or with another person. And I have a little craft project with me if I feel like doing that. If I want to be productive I carry this folder that I grab from my office when I walk out the door and that’s just some little forms that I can fill out, maybe some bills that need paying, or even thank you notes that I can write. And I keep the stamps for that in my little pouch as well. So, what do you need to do while you’re waiting? If you want a full list of good ideas of activities, you can get that with our free report “30 Ways to Find Time to Get Organized” available at clutterdiet.com/freetips.

See you next time, and may you always be happy and grateful for having more than enough.

You may have been searching for how to get more done or things to do in a waiting room.
