Note to My Blog Subscribers

Counter Problem?

Something is going wacky with our FeedBurner counter– for several days it said we had 1024 or so feed subscribers, now it says 736… this has happened before and I think it confuses itself sometimes with the FeedBlitz e-mail subscriber data.  Anyway, I am very thankful to have you all aboard, however many there are!

Rateit_2"Star" Rating System for FeedBlitz E-mails

A couple of people who subscribe to my FeedBlitz e-mail distribution have asked me about the star rating system that FeedBlitz is doing on the e-mails that are sent out.  This seems to be a very new feature that FeedBlitz has released, and I really don’t know much about it.  The feature is apparently powered by "Outbrain," and it’s unclear to me where these ratings show up in the end for people to see.  However, below are the instructions that I have made for how to rate the e-mailed articles if you want to do that.  (Click photo to see full size instructions)  If anyone knows more about this, please comment…

Yaron Galai

Hey – my name is Yaron Galai, and I’m the CEO of outbrain.
Outbrain is a an open rating system for blogs and RSS feeds. We currently offer our service to RSS aggregators, and FeedBlitz is among the first partners to carry this. So there are only a handful other places where these ratings show up.
In a few weeks we’ll release a blog version, so you could carry the ratings on your blog as well. We think this will be a great way for your readers to focus on the most relevant/interesting content first. And it should be a great feedback mechanism for you, as a blog author, to know what your audience likes best.
Again – the blog version is just a few weeks away, and we’d love to have this blog use our service.
Hope this info helped clarify these ratings. If you or any of your readers have any other questions about this service, shoot me an email to galai [at] outbrain [dot] com.

This happened to me about 3 months ago. Keep writing and ignore the fluctuations. It shouldn’t matter how many people are reading your content. Keep up the good work!
