Back-to-School Countdown

Backtoschool2Last Sunday the Austin American-Statesman‘s Life Guide columnist, Sarah Lindner, featured a story about my 3-week Back-to-School Countdown, and it’s been very well-received by the Austin moms out there! We followed up the article with a live chat event on Tuesday (click here if you want to read the chat transcript, which expands on the article and provides more tips). I always love going to the newsroom to do these live chats– there is some cool "Daily Planet" kind of energy in there, and this time I got to meet my good Twitter friend @omarg in person! That was really fun. He writes about technology for the Statesman.

Here in Austin we are now gearing up for school… we even have a tax-free shopping weekend on August 15-17, 2008 (click here for the official list of what is covered and not).  I hope you can use the info wherever you may be! Click here to read the Statesman countdown article.

Good luck to my fellow moms out there getting ready for the change of routines!

Don’t forget to get a good container to store your kids art as the school year advances. In June, send your favorite pieces to The Picasso Kid where a book will be made of the art. Each school year you can make your volume, dispose of the art clutter, and use the container for the upcoming school year! Perfect organization! http://www.thepicassokid.com
